UP: Cricketer Rinku Singh removed from voter awareness campaign, decision taken after dispute with MP Priya Saroj

The Election Commission has removed Indian cricketer Rinku Singh from the voter awareness campaign. This decision was taken after his recent engagement with SP MP Priya Saroj. The commission has ordered the removal of the cricketer's photo from all promotional material. This has disappointed his fans.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer's office, Rinku Singh is an icon of our state. That is why he was associated with the voter awareness campaign. But, when any person gets associated with any political party in any way, or there is a suspicion that he may be associated with elections in any way, then he cannot be associated with the awareness campaign. This may clash with his personal interests.
