Mahendra Singh, commonly known as MS, is one of the most iconic cricketers in the world. Early Life

MS Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi, Bihar (now Jharkhand) India, to Devaki Devi and Pan Singh. Dhoni’s family belonged to a modest background, with his father working as a steel plant worker. His early child hood was spent in Ranchi, where he showed a keen interest in sports  particularly football and badminton. He played as a goal keeper in football and even represented his school in badminton, but his passion for cricket led him to focus on it in his later years.

Career Starting

  • Dhoni initially started playing cricket for his school team and later for his state team, Bihar. His potential was noticed when he played for the East Zone team in the Under-19 tournaments 

  • In 2004, he was selected to play for India A against Kenya, which led to his call-up to the national team in late 2004 for an ODI series against Bangladesh.

  • His explosive century in just his fifth ODI match against Pakistan in 2005, where he scored 148 runs, announced his arrival on the international stage.

Youth Career
